Cool Down and Sip Up
Nothing says it’s the summer quite like having an ice-cold fruity drink in hand—and we’ve got you covered. However you’re beating the heat, you’ll want to serve up and sip on these chef-approved recipes. Fruity, tart and sweet, there’s something to keep everyone hydrated.
Fruit Infusions
Grab the leftover fruit from the fridge and slice it up! Try combining three quarts of water with two oranges cut into wedges or a handful of fresh strawberries cut in half with their stems removed. Refrigerate overnight and there it is—a low-sugar drink the whole family will enjoy throughout the day.
Peach Mint Iced Tea
Did you know tea is the second most-consumed beverage in the world, right after water? Nothing truly cools us down quite like the popular drink and this simple recipe is no different! Place a half a cup of peaches (fresh or frozen without added sugar) and three ounces of fresh mint leaves in a cheesecloth, tying it closed. Add the bundle to your favorite type of tea and chill overnight.
Watermelon Agua Fresca
The star of this show is one of the most hydrating foods you can eat: Watermelon. The sweetness of this summer favorite (which is about 92% water) comes to life when blended with tart lime juice, a little bit of sugar and water. Sit back and take a sip. Before you know it, you’ll feel like you’re on a beach somewhere.
