Stretch It Out
It’s not a stretch to say there are tons of benefits to regular stretching! It can help improve mobility, flexibility, posture—and can even lower stress. What’s more, stretching can be modified for everyone—at any age and for every fitness level.
Feeling—and Living—Better
Stretching for enhanced mobility is all about functioning better, feeling better while we’re engaging in our favorite activities, and preventing injuries that are more likely to happen when we don’t stretch regularly. In our latest blog, fitness professional Meaghan Goga (pictured) offers five of her favorite stretches to try.
Adductor Rock Back
A great stretch before working out your lower body, the Adductor Rock Back is a hip mobility exercise that targets the muscles of the inner thigh and hips. Kneel on one knee with hands in front while extending your other leg to the side, then softly rock back and forth.
The Cat-Cow
Meaghan likes the Cat-Cow because it feels good—and because it gently stretches your shoulders, back, neck, and chest. It is a yoga exercise and each movement comes with either an inhalation or exhalation.
Note: Since everyone’s health history and nutritional needs are so different, please make sure that you talk with your doctor and a registered dietitian to get advice about the diet and exercise plan that‘s right for you.
