Simple, Sensational Sides
Turkey takes center stage on many tables at this time of year (and rightfully so!) But for those of you who are looking to shake things up a little, here are 3 sensational side dish recipes that might just become your new supporting stars.
Lemon Sage Cornbread Dressing
Whether you call it stuffing, dressing—or something else—this side dish is a fresh take on an old favorite. It starts with homemade cornbread seasoned with sage and lemon juice. Toss cornbread cubes with sauteed onion, celery, garlic, parsley (and a little more sage if you like), then bake until golden.
Green Beans Gremolata
Take your turkey-day green beans on a trip to the Mediterranean! Toss whole steamed green beans with fresh lemon zest, garlic, parsley, and olive oil. Light, super-simple, and delicious!
Cranberry-Apple-Raisin Compote
What would turkey be without a fruity, sweet-tart sauce on the side? This version features fresh apples, dried cranberries, and raisins simmered in apple juice, orange juice, and cinnamon befitting the slightly fancier name, “compote.”
